BEHIND THE HELMET
My goal for this project was to display the emotion that Division 1 football players experience outside of what the public eye sees. Inside the locker room, behind closed doors, there is endless emotion. As someone who works daily with these athletes, you get to share their experiences and emotions, good and bad. "Behind The Helmet" is a play on how when they have their helmet on they are tough football players but behind that helmet is just a normal person with pure deep emotion.
Using the contrasting black and white images and the vibrant colorful images, I wanted to use color to show what fans see, the happy and serious athletes that are strong and playing the game they love. Meanwhile, by making locker room photos black and white, it pulls more emotion out and make you feel and relate.
Being able to work with a Division 1 athletic program is beyond a blessing every day. It is a big part of who I am and how I see myself today and in my future. I am so thankful and excited for what is to come. Go Spartans!
